Senior Grades Update – End of Round 6
We’re six rounds into the season and there’s been plenty happening across all senior grades at the Lockleys Football Club. While a few sides are still building consistency, there’s been no shortage of effort, improvement and standout individual performances right across the club. We’ve been unlucky on the injuries front, but the focus is now on the upcoming games.
A Grade
The A Grade currently sits at 1-5, but there’s been plenty of positives despite a tough start to the season. Ben Haren has been dangerous up forward with 13 goals already, while Diego Bueti has made a huge impact around the ground. Alongside kicking 11 goals, Diego has consistently been among the side’s best performers and continues to lead from the front each week.
B Grade
The B Grade also sits at 1-5, with the group continuing to work hard each week. Vice-Captain Shaun Crowell has been one of the side’s most reliable contributors so far this season, regularly putting together strong performances, while Jamie Clarke has provided a steady presence up forward with six goals – snagging four in round six – from six games to lead the team’s goalkicking.
C Grade
The C Grade has been one of the club’s standout teams to start the year, sitting at 4-2 after six rounds. Andrew Warnest has been in sensational form in front of goal as always, booting 29 majors at almost five goals a game, while Jai Tabb has also been an important contributor as an intercept defender during the side’s strong start to the season.
D Grade
The D Grade heads into this week after the bye and continues to show strong spirit throughout the year. Stefan Scambiaterra has been one of the team’s most consistent performers so far, while Ben Cooper has also put together several strong games and continues to contribute.
Women’s A Grade
Our Women’s A Grade side has had an impressive opening to the season, currently sitting 3-3 and holding third spot on the ladder. Isabel Spooner has been outstanding, combining scoreboard impact with consistently strong performances across the ground, while Ruby Sweet has also hit the scoreboard regularly with five goals to her name so far this year.
Women’s B Grade
The Women’s B Grade has been flying to start the season, sitting 4-1 and second on the ladder after five rounds. Alyssa Caputo has been a major threat in attack with 10 goals already, while Jasmine Reif has also provided plenty of firepower up forward. Bethany Hoffman has been one of the side’s most consistent and influential players so far this season, with Ava den Engelse also continuing to put together strong performances each week.
A big thank you to all players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and supporters for everything you continue to do around the club each week.
Go Dees!
